The Role
Bloomberg News is seeking an Analyst/Reporter to be based in South Africa in either our Cape Town or Johannesburg bureaus.
The person in this role will be responsible for providing on-the-spot, concise written reports on breaking mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, earnings, and other corporate events. We are not necessarily looking for previous journalism experience in this position:
-Reporters responding to this advert should have solid journalism experience in covering companies and/or finance in a real-time news environment.
-Those with an analyst background should have the ability and industry-specific knowledge to immediately discern actionable information from breaking news and have strong writing skills, a interest in journalism is essential.
Additional Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in a finance related discipline or equivalent experience is essential
-Thorough knowledge of the european economy, financial markets, and business is essential
-Previous business reporting and/or writing experience is essential
-An effective team player who thrives in a fast paced deadline driven environment
-A exceptional level of attention to detail is essential
-Fluent written/spoken English is essential with additional languages desirable
