Job Vacancy: Editor for All Square Media (Pretoria, South Africa)

All Square Media is a media house involved in photography, design, 3D animation, and the development/ publication of digital magazines and books. They are looking for applicants for a permanent or freelance position of Editor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Planning, researching, writing and editing articles for a bi-monthly digital publication.
  • Conceptualising, planning, writing and editing once-off magazines for clients in different fields.
  • Liaising with contributors, photographers, animators and lay-out team.
  • Writing advertorial content.
  • Writing newsletters.
  • Creating website content and teasers for magazines.
  • Creating social media content when necessary.
  • Building networking relationships and representing the brand in a professional manner.
  • Good interviewing skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in journalism and/or similar fields.
  • Excellent copy-editing and proofreading skills.
  • Must be able to think of original and creative story angles.
  • Good knowledge or understanding of writing for a digital medium.
  • Must be able to research topics and report on them in a fresh and exciting new way.
  • Understanding of the magazine production process - from conceptualising and planning to writing and editing.
