- Associate Editor, Cairo Review of Global Affairs, School of GAPP
- Report to: Managing Editor
- Working in all capacities as the chief assistant to the Cairo Review managing editor.
- Being the principal staff member in all aspects of producing a quarterly policy journal.
- Developing content.
- Managing authors.
- Editing and writing articles.
- Overseeing research and fact checking.
- Coordinating with production partners.
- Contributing to the journal’s capacity-building efforts.
- Performing miscellaneous administrative functions.
- Undertaking miscellaneous tasks that may be assigned by the managing editor.
- Managing the journal’s website thecairoreview.com.
- Minimum education requirement: Bachelors Degree from accredited university is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of three years’ editing experience at a print or online publication.
- Solid abilities as a writer, editor, editorial coordinator and digital media journalist.
- Demonstrated IT background and ability to manage all technical and editorial aspects of the journal’s website.
- A high degree of self-motivation, ability to take initiative and work with a wide variety of partners, and leadership potential.
- Strong interest in working in Cairo in an academic setting is a plus.
- Specialization in any regional studies is a plus.
- Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
